A young couple entered my shop yesterday afternoon. Apparently the young man had once heard a poem read of which he only recalled a portion. Perhaps his attention wandered during the recitation. He could not remember the title or author, but he had been quite affected by the lines that he remembered. 'And we loved with a love that was more than love...' He considered it in some way descriptive of the relationship between himself and his sweetheart and wished to present her with the full text. At length I identified the source of the quotation as "Annabel Lee" by an American Muggle named Edgar Allan Poe.
( In its entirety the poem runs as follows )
I find myself somewhat concerned as to the future of these two young people.

A note to the public: Zeller's Books will be closed Friday, 23 April 1980. It will reopen the following Monday, at which time several new editions will be available. Of particular note, is Aleppo Doge's 14th century Chronicle of the Life of Morgana, recently restored to near original condition. Appointments to view Doge's work may be arranged by journal or owl.

[Warded to the Order of the Phoenix - Enchanted to trigger emergency alerts for Order members]
There is screaming coming from the street outside my shop, as well as smoke. Contrary to popular belief this is not a common event on Knockturn Alley. I am investigating.
Before the question is asked, I assure all that I have my wand and I am alerting the DMLE officially as well. [End Ward]
[Warded to Angus MacDougal and Nicholas Harrow - added half an hour past dawn]
I would appreciate hearing from the two of you immediately. [End Ward]

In the spirit of recent public service announcements, I would like to remind the general populace that books are intended for reading, not for use as plates, coasters, or projectiles.

Despite the rush of business it brings with it, the Christmas season never fails to make me nostalgic. Each year I find myself dwelling in the past, recalling my mother's cougnolle, my father's voice in the old carols-my Elspeth waiting under, my children opening their presents.
Even with the grim times in which we live, I find reasons for nostalgia. Having followed the news these past few weeks, I confess that I have been concerned for my adopted home of late. However, I have also read and considered the many arguments for and against our new Minister's policies. I understand the public concern over the desperate measures required by these desperate times, but my faith in our government is as firm as it has ever been. I cannot properly describe the feeling in my chest as I witness Minister Bagnold's determined efforts to act for the greater good.

It is immensely reassuring to know that the Ministry is so confident in its ability manage its own affairs that it has time to spare to manage everyone else's.
My apologies to patrons of Zeller's Books, but the book shop will unfortunately be closed for some days to come. To those with books undergoing restoration (including those texts for the library project), I regret to say that that work will be delayed.
